System Requirements

Installation

To install ieKeyboard please follow the three steps below.

  1. Click on the download link above and then click 'Download Now' on the download.com web page.
  2. When you see the dialog 'Do you want to run or save this file?' choose 'Run' button when prompted.
  3. Follow the screens of the installation wizard.
  4. When the installation has completed, restart your browser and you should find a new 'Launch ieKeyboard' red icon on your toolbar.


If you are working with the correct system, meeting the requirements above and the toolbar button 'Launch ieKeyboard' is still not visible:

  1. Click on the 'Tools' menu in your Internet Explorer, click 'Options' and then click the 'Advanced' option and make sure the 'Enable Third-Party Browser Extensions' is checked. If this option was not checked you have to check it and restart Internet Explorer.
  2. If our toolbar button is still not visible, please make sure it is not simply 'pushed over' too far to the right. Simply grab the vertical bar on the left side of the toolbar and drag the toolbar to the left.
  3. If you are unable to move the toolbar, make sure the toolbars are unlocked to allow the movement. Click on the 'View' menu, then 'Toolbars' and make sure the 'Lock the Toolbars' option is unchecked.

Notes:

  • For existing users, you do not have to uninstall the previous version before installing the new one.

Usage

You can access ieKeyboard in Internet Explorer by clicking the toolbar button(icon) named 'ieKeyboard'.

Select the language you desire by clicking on the Language Selector button at the bottom-left corner of the keyboard (one with reddish border). The list of available languages will appear below the keyboard. Click on the language you need. The keyboard layout will change and the Language Selector will show the abbreviated name of your language. ieKeyboard remembers your selection on the per domain basis so next time you visit the same website the language setting is recalled.

Before you start clicking on the keyboard keys please make sure to position the cursor in the input field where you want the text to appear.

Additional characters become available when you click on the AltGr key (next to the spacebar) and keys with the red accent characters (not available in some of the layouts)
